Location: Paisley Town Hall. Abbey Close, Paisley, PA1 1JF
Join Stalled Spaces Scotland for a free one-day learning event to explore how communities have used vacant spaces to transform their places. Learn how these projects support town centre regeneration and find out more about the future policy direction. Hear from local authorities, Scottish Government, community groups and others on the impact of the Stalled Spaces Scotland project and how it supports community empowerment.
Held in beautiful Paisley Town Hall, the event will include presentations on the key lessons and achievements from the Stalled Spaces Scotland programme, as well as inviting you to participate in fast-paced information sharing sessions to learn from those who have driven projects across Scotland – providing you with plenty of knowledge and seeds of inspiration.
Stalled Spaces Scotland was inspired by Glasgow City Council’s Stalled Spaces, and funded by the Scottish Government under the Legacy2014 programme. Launched in 2014, it has been delivered by Architecture and Design Scotland and has supported 50 projects in seven local authority areas.
As part of the Seeding Success event, a Stalled Spaces Scotland toolkit will be launched, helping other communities and local authorities to develop their own projects to bring life back into stalled or vacant spaces.
A full list of speakers and running order will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event, but if you are interested in regenerating stalled spaces, then you can sign up for the event today.
