The CSGN brings together a diverse range of stakeholders with varying interests, knowledge and experience. We would like to support event opportunities that will progress current thinking, spark collaborations, share best practice, inspire and enthuse, and promote skills – all with the aim of helping to develop and deliver the CSGN.
We are inviting organisations with ideas for running their own small-scale events to apply for support from the CSGN, including up to 50% of event costs up to a maximum of £250 per event.
We would like to establish a programme of monthly training and information events which meet the needs across the CSGN area.
Types of events
With the level of support being offered, we envisage this as an opportunity for less formal small-scale events. We are open to a variety of event types and would hope to present a number of formats from various partners, such as:
- Breakfast briefing
- Round-table discussion
- Site visit
- Guest speaker presentation
- Networking event
We are also keen to see repeat events in locations across the CSGN that provide more partners the opportunity to attend. On these occasions we are able to extend the maximum funding amount to £500 to cover up to 50% of the costs for the series of events.
Internal events would need to be opened to attendees from across our CSGN partner organisations to be considered for funding.
The subject area should have direct relevance to the development and/or delivery of the CSGN. You can read more about the CSGN vision and its themes here.
To meet the needs across the CSGN, we will aim to fund a variety of subject areas. We will therefore consider how each application would complement an engaging and comprehensive schedule of events.
We will support events which increase technical understanding of the development, design, delivery and management of green infrastructure. This fund is not available for non-technical subjects such as fundraising, marketing and communications.
It is expected that partner organisations will develop, manage and administer their event. These events should be free to attend, or with a minimal booking fee to cover any additional costs. By accepting and promoting the CSGN as a supporter of the event, we will provide:
- Up to 50% towards events costs (minimum of £50 up to a maximum of £250 per event, or £500 for a series of events), such as:
- venue hire
- speaker fee
- Promotion of event to CSGN stakeholders, including:
- CSGN website
- CSGN e-bulletin
- CSGN e-newsletter
- CSGN Twitter account
Funded events should recognise the CSGN as a supporter and will be expected to:
- Display CSGN banners at each event (CSGN will supply banners)
- Include prominent use of the ‘Helping to deliver the CSGN’ logo on event materials
How to apply
- Short description of what you want to achieve

Events will be considered on a first come, first served basis until we have 12 events which can be programmed from March 2016 onwards.
