First TransPennine Express (FTPE) and the Forestry Commission (FC) would like to inspire people to make a positive improvement to their community and improve their local environment. The FTPE and FC Green Grants are available for environmental improvements in relation to trees and/or woodlands for the benefit of the community.
If you have an idea or project that is a physical environmental improvement and will make a long term, visible improvement, then the FTPE and FC Green Grants is for you.
Eligibility
The following are eligible for applying for a grant:
- Community Groups/clubs;
- Charities;
- Schools;
- Individuals acting on behalf of the above;
- Individuals giving open access to their land;
- Exceptionally we will accept other schemes.
The green grants will be awarded for environmental improvements relating to trees and/or woodlands including creating woodlands, maintenance to existing woodlands and planting trees.
Projects should preferably be close to FTPE stations and line of route.
Grants are available up to a maximum value of £2,000, but you do not need to apply for the full amount! just what you actually require for the project.
For this round of grants, a total of £20,000 is available.
More details about the grant scheme, including a map of the route, are available from First TransPennine Express.
The closing date for application is 12 October 2012.
