CSGN Forum Highlights Importance of Green Infrastructure

The importance of green infrastructure in transforming the way we live in Central Scotland was highlighted at a conference in Edinburgh today (Thursday 15^th June 2017).

The seventh annual forum of the Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) drew inspiration from across the globe with leading experts from Italy, Belfast and Copenhagen underlining the need for greenspace, green infrastructure and active travel routes in cities and urban environments.

The latest CSGNT annual report is now available to download. It accounts for the work CSGNT has carried out in partnership with the Scottish Government and with stakeholders to drive forward the delivery of the CSGN, improving the vitality, health and well-being of Central Scotland.

The John Muir Way Celebrates Third Anniversary

The John Muir Way today celebrated the third anniversary of the official opening of the 134 mile coast to coast route.

The route - which commemorates the world-renowned conservationist - was launched on Muir’s birthday on 21^st April 2014 and has welcomed visitors from across the globe.

Community Project Fund 2017 - Open 20 March

Central Scotland Green Network has launched the Community Project Fund 2017 to support community projects working to improve their local greenspace.

The £40,000 Community Project Fund – supported by £30,000 funding from the Greggs Foundation and £10,000 from Central Scotland Green Network Trust (CSGNT) - will provide one-off grants of up to £1,000 to support small-scale greenspace initiatives and to foster community engagement in maintaining and enhancing the local environment.
