The 2017 CSGN Forum drew inspiration from across the globe with leading experts from Italy, Belfast and Copenhagen underlining the need for greenspace, green infrastructure and active travel routes in cities and urban environments.

Building on from last years’ successful approach, this event included time for networking and participatory workshop sessions and site tours to visit local projects.

Following positive feedback received informally during the day, we sent out a request to delegates to complete an online survey and have been pleased to see that the results echoed much of what we were told.

Nearly one-third of the delegates participated in the consultation giving us key information on how they felt the day went and its value to them.

As with previous years, the administration and organisation of the event was considered to be extremely effective and delegates were generally positive on the choice of venue although there was some criticism of the lunch time catering.

The content of the day was regarded as being relevant, informative and inspirational. The presentation on Realising the Connswater Community Greenway delivered by Wendy Langham was especially appreciated by delegates. The pre-lunch workshops and tours were also highly regarded. Most people thought they were well organised, appreciated the opportunity to become more engaged and valued the participatory approach with the freedom to exchange information and ideas within the sessions. Networking tends to be a big feature of the CSGN Forums and this year was no different. Many respondents indicated how important this is for them.

When asked what people would take away from the event, comments centred around; a renewed enthusiasm for their current projects, the opportunity to follow up on new contacts, and greater insight regarding what the CSGN is all about.

We are presently collating the survey results into an overview report and this will be made available online. More information about the 2017 CSGN Forum can be found here along with our videos of the keynote speaker presentations.

CSGNT would like to extend their thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey and provide us with feedback. This information is incredibly useful to us as we plan for future events.
