CSGN Responds to Programme for Government

With the Programme for Government announced this week, the CSGN welcomes the restating of climate change as a major pillar of policy and action.

We further welcome the commitment to extending the Nature Restoration Fund to enable multi-year funding and to the creation of a National Regeneration Fund.

This will advance work across active travel, nature, health and wellbeing, and greenspace creation and restoration. This will help to deliver the priorities of the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy while addressing health and social inequalities across central Scotland.

The CSGN remains well placed as a major delivery mechanism across the Programme for Government, by supporting project delivery across 19 local authorities. These projects help renew and restore nature and communities. Through partnership working and collaboration, they will support and strengthen the vital services delivered by local authority partners.
