Tesco Carrier Bag Levy to Benefit Greenspaces

A new community greenspace grant programme has opened for applications.

Tesco announced that the money raised from the 5p bag charge in Tesco stores will be used to pay for a large number of local projects to improve greenspaces in communities across Scotland, England and Wales. The new grant programme is administered by Groundwork, working with greenspace scotland to support successful projects in Scotland.

CSGN Annual Review 2014-2015 Available to Download

Working with our partners, the delivery of the CSGN is improving central Scotland’s environment, helping to sustain and enhance the area’s biodiversity, landscape quality and wider ecosystems. In doing so we also seek to help address inequality and attract inward investment into the area.

The CSGN Annual Review 2014-2015 introduces some of the many projects which are helping to make central Scotland a more attractive place to live, to visit and to do business in.

GCV Green Network Partnership Launches Showcase Film

The Glasgow & Clyde Valley Green Network Partnership (GCVGNP) has today launched Showcasing the Partnership, a film to promote the Partnership’s success.

The film, featuring two key case studies, tells the story of how the Partnership is helping masterplan the Green Network into new development, and retrofitting it into existing areas.

FCS Forestry Grant Scheme, CSGN Contribution Update

Since 2009, over 3,900ha of new woodland has been approved for planting throughout the CSGN area and this is set to continue with support from the new Scottish Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS).

With funding from SRDP 2007-2013 Rural Priorities, over 860ha of native woodland has been planted, improving the environment for communities throughout CSGN.

2015 CSGN Forum Delegate Survey

Following the 2015 CSGN Forum, a short survey was sent out to delegates to gain feedback on how they found the event. This information is used to help us continue to develop future events. We have been very encouraged by the positive feedback we’ve been receiving informally, and so we were pleased to see that the survey feedback echoes much of what we were being told.

We have compiled a brief report that provides an overview of the results.
