NOTICE: 2020 CSGN Forum postponed due to coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak

"It is with great reluctance that we have taken the decision to postpone this year’s CSGN Forum. The most reliable medical predictions suggest that the COVID19 epidemic will reach its peak in early June and we feel it is very unlikely that events will be possible for some time after that. While we had already put a significant amount of time into planning and organising the Forum, this is not important in the larger scheme of things.

CSGN Annual Review 2018/19 published

The Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) Annual Review 2018/19 has been published and is available to download.

The review provides an insight to our partners’ work that, by improving the environment across central Scotland, is making healthier places to live, and more attractive places to invest and do business in. It brings a focus to the national significance of the CSGN, projects that are being delivered at scale, and action that is benefiting people at a community level.

Natural capital tool launched to help protect the environment

An ambitious new online resource has been launched by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to help ensure better environmental decision-making by valuing our ‘natural capital’.

For the first time, a comprehensive and integrated set of evidence and guidance about UK natural capital is now accessible from one place. It is intended to help policy makers, businesses, landowners and public sector organisations make better planning decisions in order to protect and to boost natural capital.

Planning for Green Infrastructure brochure launched

The Glasgow and Clyde Valley (GCV) Green Network Partnership, together with the Central Scotland Green Network Trust (CSGNT), have today launched the Planning for Green Infrastructure brochure, providing a guide to exemplar green infrastructure planning policies.

The planning system has an important role to play in safeguarding existing green infrastructure and securing delivery of connected, accessible and well-designed new green infrastructure. This new brochure highlights the key policies to help achieve this.

Board Vacancies - Central Scotland Green Network Trust

CSGNT is currently looking for up to three new Board members. Our Board is responsible for the overall direction and governance of the Trust. To expand the range of skills we currently have on our Board, we are seeking applicants with backgrounds in one or more of the following:  finance and governance; work in the third/community sector; housing (private and social) and strategic partnership working. The Board is committed to increasing its own diversity and applications are particularly welcome from currently under-represented perspectives.

CSGN projects win quality in planning awards

Winners of the Scottish Awards for Quality in Planning 2019 were announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh on 20 November.

Now in its 20th year holding a place as one of the Government’s most prestigious awards, they celebrate achievements in planning, right from the detail of processing through to the bigger picture of creating places which will become the legacy of the sector’s professionalism.
